What We Do

Our mission is simple: protect public health, preserve the natural environment, and provide reliable service to every property in our district.

To do this, the Little Colorado Sanitary District operates a unique low-pressure, overland flow sewer system with solids separation—a hybrid model that works differently from traditional systems. Property owners install a solids separation tank (much like a septic tank, but without leach lines) that removes solids on site. The remaining liquid effluent is carried through a network of dedicated sewer lines, maintained by LCSD, and transported to treatment ponds for final processing.

Our core responsibilities include:

Wastewater collection through our dedicated effluent transport system

Treatment services are designed to meet or exceed environmental standards

Maintenance and oversight of all district-managed infrastructure

Support for new connections and billing assistance for customers
